These are legal in tha US, but some states do have restrictions so check first with your local sheriff before thinking of buying, or check it with the URL below.

Pepper spray uses Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) which comes from cayenne pepper. Pepper sprays are measured in Scoville Heat Units (SHU’s) a common measure of a products’ “hotness”. A jalapeno pepper has an SHU of 5000, a habanero pepper 300,000 and a typical pepper spray rated at about 2 million SHU range.

In addition to causing an attacker pain, Pepper Shot swells the mucous membranes, which makes breathing difficult, and swells the veins in the eyes, causing the eyes to close. These effects last about 20-30 minutes and cause no permanent damage.

So below are tips before using and should you ever need to use it.
1. Read the included directions first.
2. Practice how to use it in an open and clear space.
3. Be sure to aim the attacker in the eyes or in the face
4. Once you hit the attacker, you have to run and seek for help.
5. Store the pepper spray in a cool dry place.
6 Be aware of the expiration date.

The tips above may someday be able to save your own life.

The purpose of this weapon is to allow the victim to escape and avoid any personal harm. People forget that non lethal self defense weapons are not meant to injure the attacker.

They are effective, affordable, cost effective and easy to carry and use.

A 68-year-old paroled bank robber who they called the “stun gun bandit” because he used a stun gun to rob, has been arrested after robbing his own bank.

Lester Robert Evans, 68, was arrested after LAPD investigators said they found evidence in his skid row apartment that helped tie him to a December boutique robbery. In that crime, Evans was captured on video shocking the young clerk with a stun gun, said LAPD Lt. Paul Vernon.

“We had a feeling this guy would surface eventually,” Vernon said. “It just turns out he decided to rob a bank where he had his own account.”

Police were called Tuesday to the Bank of the West branch at 2nd and San Pedro streets in downtown L.A. after it was robbed by “a white man in his 60s,” authorities said. Within minutes, officers had come up with the name of Evans, a local man who was on parole for bank robbery.

Detectives verified Evans was on parole and went to his apartment in the 400 block of East 7th Street on skid row. Detectives searched the apartment and seized evidence that linked the parolee to the bank robbery, as well as the boutique robbery, police said. Evans was booked for the bank robbery and held without bail for a parole violation.

The lesson here is never rob the bank where you have an account, go there regularly to cash your Social Security check, people know you and have your address on file…………..
